Troy is a registered patent attorney with almost 20 years of experience, including 14 years as in-house counsel for both large and small companies. Troy has assisted companies in a wide range of IP matters, including patent preparation and prosecution, freedom-to-operate, contract negotiation and drafting, and patent litigation. He has practiced in a wide range of technology fields, including medical devices, diagnostics, fuel and solar cell technologies, metallurgy, pharmaceuticals, skin care, abrasives, polymeric materials, chemical process control systems, and food products.
Troy received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and his law degree from the University of Tennessee. He previously worked at two large patent boutique firms and as in house patent counsel for Abbott Diagnostics, as in house patent counsel for Entellus Medical, and as Head of EU IP Affairs for Synthes. Troy is admitted to the US patent bar as well as the bars of Massachusetts, Minnesota, and Illinois.
