Patti J. Jurkovich
Patti Jurkovich is a Registered Patent Attorney at Billion & Armitage. Patti practices intellectual property law in the biological and related arts, and has extensive expertise in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the United States and throughout the world.
Patti has over 12 years of experience in patent protection and portfolio management in the areas of biotechnology, agricultural biotechnology, vaccines, medical treatments and diagnostics, veterinary food and health products, specialty membranes, filtration systems, water treatment, medical devices, food chemistry, food processing, nutraceuticals, health supplements, and pharmaceuticals. Additionally, her practice includes opinion, due diligence, strategic planning and licensing matters for large corporations, academic institutions, small businesses, and individuals.
She received her undergraduate degree from The University of Minnesota, College of Biological Sciences (B.S., Microbiology, 1988) and her law degree from William Mitchell College of Law (J.D.,cum laude, 1997). Prior to attending law school, Patti worked in both academic and corporate research settings, developing vaccines, clinical detection methods, and antibiotic therapies for infectious agents, as well as evaluating affinity chromatography supports for biopharmaceutical product purification.
Patti previously practiced patent law at Schwegman, Lundberg & Woessner, P.A. in Minneapolis, MN, and the Office of the Hennepin County Attorney, Civil Division and Juvenile Prosecution Division, in Minneapolis, MN. She is admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the United States District Court, District of Minnesota, and the Minnesota Supreme Court.
